The beautiful surroundings of trees and a stream created a serene and peaceful atmosphere. We were pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail in the dog house, which provided a beautiful and relaxing retreat. The hot tub was a big hit, offering the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. The location was ideal, with short distances to Wrexham and Chester, as well as lovely rural towns for scenic walks. Everything we needed was provided, including a thoughtful hamper and delicious cider. The extra touches for my partner's birthday were truly appreciated.
Although everything was fantastic, there was a small issue with spiders in the bathroom wall, which made me avoid taking a shower. Additionally, the WiFi didn't fully reach the cabin, causing some inconvenience.

Chilled and relaxed atmosphere, with attention to detail by the hosts, including thoughtful welcome gifts. Lodge was fully equipped and clean, with stunning views. The location offered peacefulness, and the personalized touches for special occasions were appreciated.
Comparatively high price, possibly due to the hot tub. Owl Lodge lacked heating options, making it uncomfortably cold at times.

Beautiful surroundings, peaceful location, and great for birdwatching. Lovely walks in the area. Hot tub is relaxing but takes time to heat up. Fully equipped facility with welcoming hosts. Highly recommended for a tech-free break.

My stay at Faraway Follies was beyond expectations. The location was a hidden gem, offering a remote and tranquil atmosphere. The cabin was cozy, well-equipped, and impeccably clean. The breathtaking view of the hills and farms added to the charm. The hot tub, once warmed up, was a perfect spot to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings. I thoroughly enjoyed the peacefulness and the absence of distractions like TV and Wi-Fi. The hosts were lovely and accommodating. I had an amazing experience at Faraway Follies and would highly recommend it.
The hot tub took quite a while to heat up, which was a bit inconvenient. Additionally, the view from the lodge was partially blocked by trees, but still stunning.

Our stay at Faraway Follies was truly exceptional. The location was breathtaking, with beautiful snowy mountains surrounding us. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub, soaking in the scenery. The personal touches in the lodge were impressive, especially for our furry friend. They provided treats, blankets, and even poop bags for our dog, making it a truly dog-friendly experience. The homemade marmalade, pate, fresh milk, and coffee were delightful surprises. We loved the cozy decor and the comfortable bed.
The walk around the lodge to the decking and hot tub was a bit slippery, and we felt a little exposed walking outside in our swimsuits and dressing gowns. Also, having only a log burner for heating was a bit challenging, especially for our shivering dog.

Warm, cosy and totally relaxing place to spend a few days. Loved the log fire and the comfy mattress. the hot tub was a great addition and provided a perfect way to unwind. the attention to detail was impressive, with a lovely welcome message and a gift basket waiting for us. the location was also great, with beautiful views and plenty of walks nearby. it was a fantastic stay that left us wanting to return in the summer.
The water in the shower was inconsistent, going from warm to hot to cold. It wasn't a major issue, but it could have been more consistent.

The location was absolutely stunning, with beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere. It was the perfect getaway from the city hustle. the accommodation was cozy and modern, with rustic touches that made it feel connected to nature. the owners were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. Plus, the personal touches they added to our stay made it even more special. We also loved the outdoor space, especially sitting on the porch and listening to the stream flow by.
We spent a few minutes hoovering them on the first night before we could fully relax. there were quite a lot of flies around the property, making it difficult to have the windows and doors open despite the warm weather.

Perfect tranquil retreat with stunning scenery and fab location. Shops and pubs nearby. Relaxation from the moment we arrived, with beautiful touches like welcome gifts and games. Lovely hosts and fully equipped facilities.
WiFi didn't fully reach the cabin and some difficulty with using it. Additional towels and hooks outside the hot tub would have been nice.

I recently had the most amazing stay at a stunning villa. the location was perfect - secluded yet with shops and pubs nearby, and the scenery was absolutely stunning. As soon as I arrived, I felt relaxed in the tranquil atmosphere. the little touches throughout the villa, from the welcome sign and gifts to the games, made it feel homely and welcoming. the layout of the lodge was ideal for two people, with enough space to feel comfortable but still cozy. the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom/shower was surprisingly spacious. the owners, Jenny and Margaret, were extremely friendly and their personal touches made our stay even more special. Can't wait to go back!
Liked everything about Faraway Follies Villa! 😊.

Our stay at Faraway Follies was absolutely delightful. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome and a thoughtful gift basket in our accommodation. The cozy atmosphere of the lodge, with its crackling fire and comfortable seating, created the perfect setting for a romantic getaway. The views of the surrounding hills and farms were simply breathtaking, especially in the morning when we could hear the gentle sounds of sheep. The lodge was well-equipped with games and a radio, providing entertainment and relaxation throughout our stay. Although the hot tub took a while to warm up, once it did, it was a lovely addition to our evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a homely and cozy retreat. we can't wait to come back again.
While the water temperature in the shower was not consistent, it was still usable. Additionally, the lack of a television and weak WiFi connection may be a minor inconvenience for some.

We were welcomed with a cozy fire and chilled pate, such a lovely surprise. The lodge was even more beautiful than the pictures showed and the location was absolutely idyllic. We couldn't have asked for a better setting. The hosts were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. Our two little girls didn't want to leave, they even declared it as their "favorite day of their lives". And even though there was no TV or wifi, it didn't matter because there was so much to see and do, we wouldn't have switched on anyway.
The bed was smaller than what we're used to, but we were aware of that when we booked. Also, the bedroom had limited space for luggage.
